In this HMCKC Time Capsule we look back at the last Gala Festival HMCKC attended back in 2016 in Denver because 2024 brings the return of the quadrennial festival.  An incredible event that brings together LGBTQ+ choruses from all over the world. The festival is five days of wall-to-wall concerts, workshops, and social events. HMCKC will once again perform during this largest LGBTQ+ choral event in the world. This year Minneapolis is the host city for more than 15,000 singers. 

The festival in 2020 was canceled due to the pandemic. So, the chorus is even more excited to return to the festival after a long eight-year break. So far, more than 110 current chorus members have expressed interest in traveling to the festival in July of 2024.

This picture was taken on the day of the performance and everyone is wearing the concert t-shirts, which read “Does my sexiness upset you?” This was a line from a Maya Angelou poem.
